How much does a new heater coil repair cost for a 1997 Ford Explorer?

How do I know that the heater coil has gone bad? Could it just be a bad hose? Symptoms: A steam-like moisture blasts out of the heating/AC vents when I turn on the heat or AC. All of the windows fog up. Smell of anti-freeze in the car.
the heater core,thats what its called.yes its leaking,bad.it could take up to 2 hours to change and probably cost around 65 dollars to buy and add about 200 on top for labor.thats a ball park figure.
